Meet the prerequisites
Must be a graduate of a Board-approved esthetics program meeting the Chapter 6 hour requirements (600 hours), or provide certification of equivalent training/hours or an active out-of-state license to qualify for examination (W.S. 33-12-130).. No minimum age requirement was found in Wyoming statute (W.S. 33-12-119 through 33-12-140) or Board Rules Chapters 1-2. No mandatory criminal background check or fingerprinting requirement for esthetician applicants was found; the Board may deny, suspend, or revoke a license after the fact for a criminal conviction adversely related to the practice (W.S. 33-12-135), but this is not a stated precondition of initial licensure. Complete approved training
Complete 600 hours of training at a state-approved program. Esthetician program must consist of no less than 3 months of education and no less than 600 hours of theory and practical instruction, covering skin anatomy/physiology, skin analysis and disorders, product chemistry, the treatment room, facials, facial massage, hair removal, and makeup (Board of Cosmetology Rules, Chapter 6, Section 4). The personal license fee covering Esthetician is $48.00 per year (Board Rules Chapter 13, Fees); no separate application fee beyond this is published. The first license is issued for one year from the month of acquisition, then renews on a two-year cycle prorated to the licensee's birth month, so no single fixed 'renewal' lump sum is published beyond the $48/year rate. A board-administered hands-on practical exam fee of $50 also appears in the fee schedule, but current esthetician candidates instead sit Prov-administered NIC written and written-practical exams (see exams array).
Renewal & continuing education

The first license is issued for one year from the month of acquisition; thereafter licenses renew on a two-year cycle expiring in the licensee's birth month, with prorated amounts (Board Rules Chapter 13, Section 2(c)). No continuing-education chapter exists in the Board's Rules & Regulations, and no CE-hour requirement for renewal was found.
Reciprocity
Endorsement/reciprocity from another state is available.
Endorsement is governed by W.S. 33-12-132: the applicant must hold a current, active license as an esthetician in another state, have attended a school meeting Wyoming's Chapter 6 hour requirements, and -- if not in full-time practice for at least one year prior to applying -- have been licensed under requirements the Board determines at least equal to Wyoming's. The endorsement fee is $225.00 (Board Rules Chapter 13). Wyoming has not enacted the Cosmetology Licensure Compact; no compact currently covers Wyoming estheticians.
