Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-07-10.

StateLicensed.org ("StateLicensed", "the Site") is an editorial reference site. This policy describes what data we collect from visitors, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.

Quick summary

  • We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand site usage and improve content. No other analytics or advertising trackers.
  • We do not set our own tracking or advertising cookies beyond those Google uses for analytics measurement.
  • We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
  • Some pages may carry clearly-labeled affiliate or sponsored links to training providers; these don't affect what requirement data is shown or how it's sourced.
  • To exercise any privacy right, email contact@statelicensed.org with the subject "Privacy Request".

What we collect

Categories of data:

  • Online identifiers and technical data — cookie or client IDs, IP address at request time, device and browser type — collected via Google Analytics.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, clicks, time on page, referring URLs.
  • Approximate geolocation — region inferred from IP address at request time; we do not collect precise location.
  • Anything you send us directly, such as an email for a data correction or general inquiry.

We do not require an account to use the Site, and we do not intentionally collect names or email addresses unless you send them to us voluntarily.

Cookies

We do not set our own analytics or advertising cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure Site engagement. You can block or delete these through your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies does not affect your ability to read requirement pages.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to generate aggregated statistics about which pages are useful. We do not enable GA4 User-ID, do not send user-provided data (such as hashed emails) to Google, and do not enable Google Signals or remarketing audiences.

Sharing & selling

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. We use a small number of reputable service providers — hosting, content delivery, and Google Analytics — acting as processors on our behalf, contractually restricted from using data for their own purposes.

The Site links to state board and government websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) to:

  • Know the categories of personal information we collect.
  • Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. (We do not engage in any of these.)
  • Appeal a decision to deny a request.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@statelicensed.org with the subject "Privacy Request" and tell us which right you'd like to exercise. We'll verify your request to a reasonable degree, typically by replying to the address you wrote from.

Opt-out signals (Global Privacy Control). If we ever engage in sale or sharing of personal information in the future, we will honor browser-based opt-out signals such as GPC. At present, we do not sell or share.

Security

Site traffic is served over HTTPS. We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited personal data we process. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Site's content is aimed at adults researching licensing requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us — for example, by emailing us — contact contact@statelicensed.org and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes — a new processing purpose or a new category of recipient — will be flagged clearly on this page.
