Complete 100 hours of training at a state-approved program. Applicants must complete a course of not less than 100 hours of study and receive a certificate of completion from an approved school (CGS § 20-265d). [1]

Renew every 2 years.
Licenses must be renewed every two years. Connecticut does not require continuing education (CE) to renew or maintain a nail technician license.
Reciprocity
Endorsement/reciprocity from another state is available.
Licensure by endorsement is available for out-of-state licensees with a current license in good standing and at least two years of licensed experience immediately preceding application. A temporary permit valid for up to 120 days may be issued pending application approval. Connecticut is not a member of any cosmetology or nail technician compact.
